Handcrafted Wooden Chicken Coops

We design and handcraft all of our chicken coops, nest boxes, chicken arcs, chicken tractors, and runs. With the economy the way it is, this is a great time to start your own flock of chickens. Not only will chickens provide you with fresh eggs, they are also economical, entertaining, affectionate, wonderful pets, and a fun hobby. Traditionally, it was thought that chickens belonged on farms, but backyard chickens in urban and rural areas are becoming very popular. In some backyards, chickens can free range during the day in the backyard and be put in their coop at night. The preference of some people is to keep them contained all day long as well. In a situation like this, we sell chicken arcs and chicken tractors where you can move the arc or tractor to different areas of your yard to allow the chickens fresh grass. Some people try to save money by purchasing a used coop, but it is smarter to buy a new one since used ones might have housed chickens with diseases. We let our chickens free range all day, but at night we put them in their coops where they are safe from predators. Many people who don't know much about chickens think they can just throw a tarp over some pieces of wood and that will make a fine enough chicken coop. They won't have their chickens very long if they do that (they'll be eaten). To be safe and to stay healthy, chickens need coops. It is a myth that if you live in a city your chickens are safe from predators. The truth is, raccoons, possums, dogs, cats, etc. all provide a threat to chickens. Our dog gets along with our chickens, but neighbor dogs often do not.

  • All coops, chicken arcs, chicken tractors and runs are made with Northwest timber and quality plywood (not fiber board or OSB).
  • The coops are durable in all kinds of weather.
  • No chicken wire is used; we only used quality hardware wire to prevent predators such as raccoons and possums (raccoons can eat through chicken wire).
  • Handcrafted in Walterville, Oregon at Three Willows Ranch.
  • All coops fit at least six chickens.
  • Free pamphlet on raising and keeping chickens with purchase of one of our coops.
  • 30% off on your next purchase of a young hen with purchase of chicken coop.
  • Most of our coops have access doors to collect eggs without entering the coop from the front. In that case, you would need one of our nest boxes without a back.
